RedAlert Account Deletion Policy
1. Request account deletion
RedAlert is operated by MIRA Safety, LLC. To request deletion of your RedAlert account and associated personal information, email [email protected] with the subject "RedAlert account deletion."
Include the email address or sign-in identifier associated with your account and a contact address for our response. If you use Sign in with Apple with a hidden email, your account may use an Apple relay address. You do not need to reinstall RedAlert or give a reason for leaving.
We may ask you to verify control of the account using only information reasonably necessary for the request. If you no longer control your sign-in method, tell us so we can consider an alternative. Never send passwords, one-time codes, recovery codes, or push tokens. If an identity document is necessary, we will explain why and provide a secure submission method; do not send it through ordinary email.
2. What deletion covers
Subject to the limited exceptions below, we delete your RedAlert authentication identity and profile, subscriptions and preferences, device registrations and push tokens, account-linked support content, reports and uploaded media, personal author information, and other personal information associated with your account.
We also address associated personal information in derived alerts, moderation and notification records, queued work, and service-provider systems. We stop account-linked notification delivery as deletion takes effect. Public safety value alone is not a blanket reason to retain identifiable submissions. Where information is lawfully kept in de-identified form, it must no longer reasonably identify you; changing a display name is insufficient.
3. Limited retention and backups
We may retain specific information where necessary and permitted or required by law, including a legal obligation, valid legal hold, substantiated safety or security investigation, or legal claim. We limit its use, access, and retention to that purpose. Records documenting a deletion request are kept only as reasonably needed to demonstrate our response and compliance.
Residual backup and storage copies are removed through normal replacement or expiry cycles. While awaiting removal, they are restricted from ordinary use, and applicable deletions are reapplied after a restore. We cannot remove copies another person independently saved or content on websites we do not control.
4. Timing and confirmation
We process requests without undue delay and within the deadlines required by applicable law. Verification does not extend an applicable legal deadline measured from receipt of your request. We explain any lawful extension or retention exception, including expected timing where applicable, and confirm completion where legally permitted.
We initiate the relevant service-provider deletion actions as part of the process. Providers may need additional time to remove residual records under their own deletion cycles. Their timing does not justify delaying our own work. Where Sign in with Apple is used, we revoke RedAlert authorization tokens as applicable.
5. What account deletion does not do
Uninstalling the app, signing out, turning off notifications, removing a device, or having an account suspended does not delete your account. Deleting RedAlert does not delete your Google or Apple account, a separate MIRA Safety shopping account, or cancel a separate transaction with another service.
Once deletion is complete, you cannot recover the deleted profile, preferences, or submissions through RedAlert. A later registration creates a new account.
6. Other privacy requests and contact
For access, correction, or deletion of particular information without closing your account, email [email protected]. See https://redalertus.com/privacy/choices and the Privacy Policy at https://redalertus.com/legal/privacy-policy.
